Now I'm working on building the stems using Douglas Fir that I am laminating as I go.

With the help of my buddy David last weekend I got quite a few 1/4 x 3/4 inch strips cut.  These are Western Red Cedar that I purchased from CLC Boats.  They seemed to have a decent price and the wood has been kiln dried and nicely selected for boat building.  Shipping as freight from their shop in Maryland was quite reasonable.
